and I thought I was politically incorrect…

here are some of the comments i received from readers of this blog about my “political incorrectness” entry from february 23, 2005. i agreed to post them, so here goes:

“Someone should sit Cheney next to a microwave.”

“Shouldn’t they be almost out of suicide bombers if they’re all commiting suicide?”

“Saddam is no worse than Andrew Jackson. Kurds-Native Americans. Nerve gas-smallpox. Whats the difference? One’s on the $20 bill, the other is America’s scapegoat.”

“dude, why does Saddam’s attitude in court and interviews say, “When I get outta here, I’ma F*** America up! Let me out this cell and see what happens, here?!” I really admire his ability to look for the light at the end of the tunnel when the tunnel is clearly a dead end.”

and some other politically incorrect thoughts from a friend:

“you know, hispanics be TRAVELING!! i mean, i would find them in like rural kansas and iowa and nebraska and be like, “How did you get here?!Nobody’s ‘posed to be here!””

“dude, i’m not supposed to say this, but hispanics are a spin-off of native americans. hispanics is a namethat white spaniards gave them when they startedraping them and made them learn spanish. they both descend from the Americas’ indigenous groups.”

“i’m am SCARED of cheney’s power. how powerful are youwhen you can shoot someone IN THE FACE and the personwho gets shot apologizes?! Dick’s got balls.”

so as you can see…other people are politically incorrect too. keep the comments coming…

From the DTH- "Olympics: We’re moving on…"

Olympics: We’re moving on, we’ve had more than enough – Opinion

An opinion article that I found HILARIOUS while reading the DTH this morning…

excerpt:

“Dear Olympics,

We’re not really sure how to do this, so we’ll just go ahead and say it – we think maybe it’s time for us to start seeing other events. Please don’t make this any harder than it has to be. Believe us, we’ve thought long and hard about this, and we think this is for the best.

Don’t get us wrong, it’s been a great run. We always will cherish the memories of our time together, such as Jesse Owens, Flo-Jo, the Dan and Dave debacle and of course
the great Miracle on Ice…

You see, in our culture we don’t like anything unless commercials and big companies tell us to like them. That’s just a part of who we are, and you are going to have to respect that.

Why do you think we don’t like soccer? Every four years you show up with your Summer Olympics, all excited about soccer. Every four years you try to tell us that it’s the most popular sport in the world, and every four years we pretend to care. The only reason we even acted interested in the first place was because you lied and called it “football.”

Don’t tell us you really thought we liked it. Remember all those times you thought you were making us scream, “Goal, Goal, GOOOOAAAALLLL!” We were faking it -every time. Did you really think you were rocking our world with a whole 30 seconds of actual action every two hours?…”

…funny huh? tell me your thoughts about the Olympics. I’m personally not a fan of Winter Olympics, and as I get older, the Summer Olympics has become less and less interesting to me. Could it be because the US is losing its athletic stronghold?
