2006!

so it’s a new year. 2006! i know alphas everywhere are excited. i can’t believe it’s 2006 already. 2005 was such a good year, full of so many blessings and surprises. i thank God that i made it through another year, and i’m so excited about all of the things in store for this year.

in a few days, i’ll officially be “miss davis”. yeah, i’m about to step into the classroom as a teacher, teaching economics to high school juniors. that’s so weird, because i definitely remember my junior year of high school. i’m also not too certain about economics, but i figure that God has given me all i need to do what i have to do. so i should be fine.

something else that’s weird is that i LOVE college football. being at uga for a SEMESTER has transformed me. don’t get me wrong, i’m a TARHEEL and i will ALWAYS bleed carolina blue. but there really is something about SEC football. being at the ga center and decorating for games, along with seeing all the fans and alumni…and who could forget uga vi! my first uga game was the sugar bowl (how many people can say that?), and although we lost, it was such an incredible experience. usually i’m excited about the end of college football, but now i’m slightly saddened. it’s all good though…basketball can hold me over till the summer, and then i can break from sports to be good and ready for football all over again.

i started 2006 on the plane…coming back from phoenix, and the message that i got from God is that he’s still faithful to us (or me). as 2006 came in, the song that started playing on my ipod (which was on shuffle) was “great is thy faithfulness”. i was almost moved to tears, just at how God is ALWAYS at work, and consistently reminding us that he is there and faithful to us. i had been worried about how i was going to make it through this semester, but now i’m encouraged. thanks God!

that’s all for now…be encouraged!

“great is thy faithfulness. morning by morning, new mercies i see. all i have needed, thy hand hath provided. great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me. “

“if it had not been for the Lord on my side, tell me where would i be…”

live from phoenix, az

as the title indicates, this blog is coming to you live from phoenix, arizona. i’ve been here since saturday, enjoying christmas with the family. it’s really nice and pretty here- sunny and warm (think 70 degree weather) and any place that you can find mommy, the sissies, my lil bro, and the general (aka my stepfather) is alright with me.

christmas here was great. we went to church, then came back and opened some gifts. as i said before, it’s not really about the gifts so much as it’s about spending time with the family. the sissies and the lil bro are HILARIOUS and they are growing up so fast. pretty soon they’ll be doing the college search, and to the general’s and mommy’s delight, getting up out of their house. time flies when you’re having fun. one thing i have loved about being here is being able to eat all of my mommy’s food. she’s been cooking it up this week- chicken, ham, casseroles, mac and cheese, veggies. trust and believe, i’ve ALREADY started looking into the workouts that will be necessary to get the swimsuit physique.

being here has also given me time to think about the things that are really important to me. 2005 has been an awesome year, filled with so much more than i ever expected; and i know that 2006 will be even better. i don’t generally deal in regrets because i believe that everything that has happened has been fashioned for some purpose. however, i know that for 2006 i’ma do a better job of keeping in touch with my friends. it’s been rough feeling/falling out of the loop with friends, and even more difficult trying to get back in. it’s all good though…it’s gonna be a new year and GOD will be doing a NEW thing. i’m excited.

so…perhaps i’ll write more later. or maybe i won’t. either way, be blessed and be encouraged! peace and blessings…
