life beyond the well…

RIP to the King’s Queen…

on the way to school this morning, i received word of the death of Coretta Scott King, wife of slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, and i was immediately in shock. it wasn’t too long ago that we lost Rosa Parks, and now Mrs. King. wow.

when i think of Mrs. King, i always think of her elegance, her grace, and her dignity. after losing her husband to the civil rights movement, she continued to uphold his legacy and fight for his dream.

she was a beautiful woman, physically; but she had an even more beautiful spirit. her strength and her courage was amazing. while she was most known as the wife of Dr. King, she carved out an amazing legacy that will not be forgotten. may she rest in peace, and may her soul rejoice as she is reunited with her husband.
