…and not because of basketball. Although, I will say that I was a bit emotional over our Men’s team’s loss to Duke, and even more emotional about our Women’s team’s VICTORY over Duke. Just goes to show that when our schools match up, you can throw everything out of the window and prepare for an all out fight to the end. Rankings don’t matter- this game is all about HEART.
Anyhow, I’m proud to say that UNC has tapped current Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Bernadette Gray-Little as the next provost; replacing Provost Robert Shelton who will be leaving to work as President at the University of Arizona. As the Daily Tar Heel reports in an article printed today, Bernadette Gray-Little will be the first African-American to hold this position, and also the first woman to do so.
