Professor removed for gender

A professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX was removed from her position because of her gender. This is the latest source of division within the Southern Baptist Convention.

An official from the school said, “With regard to the tightening of the policy of women teaching in the School of Theology, there has been no change in policy, but rather a return to the way it has always been. There was a momentary lax of the parameters, and (the seminary) has now returned to its traditional, confessional, and biblical position.”

Hmmm…interesting. Check out the article and then tell me what you think…

God-chaser. NC native, now planted in Jacksonville, FL. Happily married to a handsome church-planting pastor. I am easily excited by Jesus, education, cupcakes, Moleskine notebooks, and Pepsi. Overwhelmed by God's amazing grace, undeserving of His love and mercy.

  1. This surprises me not. The Southern Baptist denomination is as backwards as Kriss Kross’ jeans.

  2. Define backward Gene. Those not seeing it your way? Many of the churches which make up the Southern Baptist convention have particular convictions which are based on the Word of God. The authority for your choices and worldview, where does it lie? Your canon is it the great N. American culture, or something else? How do you measure things?
I know nothing of this incident, except what I’ve read here. I’m just curious if by backwards you mean those who haven’t caught up to your wonderful standard of living/morality.
