If You Can’t Afford It…

I’m sure this isn’t a phenomenon exclusively to the Atlanta area. Now there are rent-to-own shops for RIMS for your car. Don’t worry if you can’t afford those 22’s. Now you can just pay a little bit each week to floss like you’re the boss…

You can check out this article from the AJC. But no worries, I’ve included an small part here:

Can’t afford to lay out $2,500 for four wheels worth of shine? No credit? No problem. You can rent them, and eventually own them, sometimes for double the cash purchase price.

Ego is fueling the buying spree, said Larry Sutton, the president of Rent-n-Roll, a 60-store chain that claims to be the biggest of its kind. “We want to feel good about the way we look: ‘I don’t want to wait for that. I don’t want to save for that. I just want it.’

Damn that instant gratification! Look where it’s leading us now…

God-chaser. NC native, now planted in Jacksonville, FL. Happily married to a handsome church-planting pastor. I am easily excited by Jesus, education, cupcakes, Moleskine notebooks, and Pepsi. Overwhelmed by God's amazing grace, undeserving of His love and mercy.

  1. I’m not shocked by this. It is a smart business move for the company. I wonder if these people know cars depreciate with rims or no rims. *shrugs*

And even though I knew rims were huge in ATL, reading that dude was head of a freaking 60-store rim chain almost killed me!!!

  2. i just got some 30″ spinners for $35/month.

It’ll take me 48 months to pay them off and my interest rate is only 33 percent!

    What a deal…

  3. But at least you BALLIN’ Rell!!! And THAT’S what important.

    Are we still saying ballin?

  4. Is there one in NC?

  5. Or does this dude have 60 stores in ATL alone?

(I was asking about NC b/c I might wanna rent some back to school rims).

    “Are we still saying ballin?”

Well, Jim Jones is on the Shop Boys’ Party Like a RockStar remix and he’s still saying it.
